Petite Adventures Month in Review: January 2017

Gdansk, Poland - Petite Adventures Month in Review: January 2017 [[

For many, January is a month to hunker down and practice the Danish art of hygge, letting the cold, dark winter weather swirl around outside the windows.

But not for this Petite Adventurer, at least not this year!

Wanderlust Wednesday: Warsaw

Wanderlust Wednesday is a series where I revisit a past travel adventure and memory. This week, I’m looking back at my day in Warsaw, Poland.

WW - 2012 - Warsaw 004

We had just one day to explore Warsaw, Poland; and it didn’t help that I was coming down with the worst cold I’ve ever had. But, I made the most of it.

After a quick tour of the city – both by bus and on foot – we ended up in a town square in the middle of old town. I don’t know what it was but there was something so perfectly quaint and serene about this spot. Although, by the time I’d arrived in Warsaw I’d already been in Europe for two weeks, I don’t know if I’d been in a spot that felt more European.

Only having one day was not nearly enough to explore this capital city, especially when you’re coming down with a plague-like-cold. From the bus, I saw so many different sights that I wanted to explore. Clearly, I’ll have to make time over the next year to visit this Eastern European gem.
